Domestic violence has been here with us. Some happen far from us, others where we are and there are those that happen to us making us victims of the vice. It is a scourge that when not quickly addressed appropriately and necessary actions taken, can germinate to a global problem. Domestic violence is a public health problem that has for the years been a headache to healthcare providers and activists around the world. Violence against women also has had negative impact on children. It has an impact on the growth and nutritional status of the children of those women who are affected by it. A good percentage of children with poor growth are actually indirect victims of violence meted on their mothers.
In this time and century, it is our obligation to stop domestic violence and say no to relationship cannibalism. Losing a soul because of domestic violence should be brought to a permanent halt and it starts by airing the major reasons as to why the violence takes place.
